Open Question: How much do archaeologists make? How easy is it to find a job in archaeology? what kinds of fields are there?

Ever since I was a small child, I have loved history, the dirt, and the adventure of being an archaelogist. I am about to go into college, and I am just making sure that this is exactly what I want to do. I love history, and I absolutely love the idea of uncovering something from thousands of years ago. Now, I know that it is deffinately not like the "Indiana Jones" type of archaeology, but to me that makes it even more exciting. It makes it my own.
